General public to see Volvo Ocean Racing action up close

In partnership with Island Ferries, Let's Do It Galway will be providing boat trips for the general public to see the Volvo Race action on the water.

Starting from Friday May 29th, the general public will be able to get up close to the sailing action on Galway Bay. A 300 person capacity boat will be departing from Galway Docks each day over the Bank Holiday Weekend and will give the public a chance to see the spectacular sailing events scheduled to take place in Galway Bay. People can see the Volvo boats in action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the long weekend. While on Monday, people will get a rare opportunity to see the Galway Hookers in action when they race on Monday afternoon. Other days, including the departure day on June 6th will also be catered for. There will several departures daily from Galway Docks and sailings are scheduled to coincide with all of the activities that are planned in Galway Bay.
