Green Dragon on the loose in Galway City
Date: Apr 28, 2009

The fleet of the Volvo Ocean Race may not be arriving into Galway Bay until May22, however the Green Dragon can already be seen walking around Galway on the head of Emilio Tapia.

On April 22, Fat Tony's top barber Aiden O'Brien spent over two hours skillfully shaving the Green Dragon logo into Emilio's hair using a technique known as Hair Tattooing.

Fat Tony's has recently been announced as a Supporting Business of the Galway Volvo Ocean Race and offered this unique promotion of the event as a display of their excitement for what promises to be the biggest free festival ever to hit Ireland.

With the number of Supporting Businesses now passing the hundred mark, Lets Do It Galway are delighted to have the backing of so many local companies and with this support set to continue, Galway is sure to reap the economic benefits of the €43 million revenue expected through the hosting of this premier sporting event.

The key weekends for the Galway Volvo Ocean Race festival are the arrivals (23-24 May), the inport racing weekend with viewing from Salthill Promenade (30-31 May) and the departures on Saturday (06 June).

Full festival details are available at www.galwayvolvooceanrace.com where you will also get up to the minute information on the arrivals of the yachts over the weekend of 23/24 May.
